Medicare is known for providing affordable coverage and is a great option for many seniors to get the healthcare coverage they need! However, even though Medicare does provide a lot of coverage, it doesn’t cover everything. With this in mind, you need to be aware of the out-of-pocket costs you may have to pay.
If you are enrolled in Original Medicare, you can add on a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan to help provide coverage for the out-of-pocket costs, which can include deductibles, excess charges, copayments, coinsurance, and other costs.
Not everyone feels as if they need a prescription drug coverage plan. However, if you do take prescriptions, whether it be a lot or just a few, having a prescription drug coverage plan can still take the financial strain off of you. You can get prescription drug coverage through either a Medicare Advantage Plan with a drug benefit or by sticking with Original Medicare and adding on a Part D plan.
If you want extra benefits such as dental, vision, hearing, or even prescription drug coverage, which are not included in Original Medicare, one of the many Medicare Advantage Plans may be able to provide you with this.
