Generally, you become eligible to enroll in Medicare three months before the month of your 65th birthday. Those three months leading up to your 65th birthday are factored into the Initial Enrollment Period, which lasts up until three months following the month of your 65th birthday.
If you receive benefits through Social Security or the Railroad Retirement Board (RRB), you’ll be automatically enrolled in Part A and Part B.
